Robot Basketball

Week 1:
Tuesday 09/30/14

ALL NEW TEAMS AND ALL NEW GAMES!

The first task at hand was to come up with a game or robotic challenge that as a class each group would have to compete in.

For our group we decided that we wanted to come up with a game that was similar to basketball... two robots would be given a basket on their side and the goal is to score more racket balls into the opposing goal than the opponent's can score in your goal.

The rules will be:

  1. 90 second time limit
  2. Can not pass the border line that surrounds the buckets
  3. Can not hit opponent robot INTENTIONALLY
  4. Limit of 4 motors
  5. limit of 20 gears
  6. 3D parts DO NOT count towards limit
  7. limit of 18 collars
  8. robot must be 18x18x18 at start
  9. You can only hold 4 balls at once
  10. 2 on 2
At the end of the game decision making period we came to a conclusion as a class, that we would all participate in the game that our group came up with.  Now the main goals of the week are to begin disassembling our robots and organizing the parts so that we can begin with our new robots as soon as possible.
This is a diagram of what our game will look like.
