HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Love, The Super Saiyan Squad

This was a very short week this week, because Thanksgiving break is this week.
Our goals for this week were to build both arms of our robot, but so far we have only managed to build one.

This is an update on our arm.

End of the week

We had to change our robot challenge, just one last time. We are going back to our original idea, which was robot basketball, but we have decided to make the game ball a beach ball. So the concept of the game is basketball that will be played with a beach ball.

On another note... We got a care package!! Mr. Martin gave every group what we like to call a "care package". It was a box that has a list of brand new parts that we are allowed to use for our robot. Including a new brain, new motors, and a brand new controller.

There was a problem with our new motor's wiring but with the help of a fellow classmate the problem was taken care of.

These are the new motors that we were given :DDDD

Start of The Week

We came up with a new robot game. The game is similar to the arcade game; Skii ball.
A robot is to collect a ball, and launch it through hoops and the more difficult hoops equate to more points that a team can earn. However, unlike normal skii ball the hoops wont be on a flat surface, they will be stacked vertically in a pyramid. Each team will have 90 seconds to score as many points as possible. Each time the robot shoots a ball it has to be at least 3 feet away from the hoops.
This is us dismantling our previous assembled robot.

end of the week

It's the end of the week, and on Monday we were told that we had to change our game. We have come up a couple of ideas that have not really been solidified yet. One being robot kickball and the other being robot billiards. Nothing is set and stone yet and we have to get everything approved by Mr. Martin. At the end of this week we have accomplished one big thing, we completed oui new gear ratio and our robot finally operates properly!!

This is the final gear ratio that we used that successfully moves our robot.
This is our robot in action!

Start of The Week

Start of The Week

Today Mr. Martin told our group, The Super Saiyan Squad that our idea is unoriginal because we have already done a robotic challenge that is similar to the one we had planned. He told our group that we could either change our game around to be like actual basketball, meaning use an actual life size basketball or we could change our game.
Because using an actual sized basketball would be entirely too hard we decided that we would just come up with a new game.

Our goals for the week are to come up with a new game plan and redesign our robot to play the new game.

This is Garret and Tyler thinking of a new game to play
This is our gear ratio as of now, we are going to change the other side now and hopefully our robot will work

end of the week

What we accomplished

We changed the gear ratio that we planned at the beginning of the week
we came up with a new mechanism to pick up racket balls.
We still need to figure out why the robot won't move the way we want it to, we have tried new motors bu we'll see if it's the gear ratio next week.
This is the new mechanism we built to pick up balls.
